TELUS Sky is a 60-storey building located in Calgary, Alberta.  TELUS Sky is a mixed-use building, with commercial offices from levels 1 to 29, residential suites on levels 30 to 58 and commercial office boardrooms on levels 59 and 60. The building parkade consists of seven underground levels.

An 11-storey atrium is located on the west side of the building and connects to the adjacent building. Levels 1 to 11 are interconnected floors due to the glass partitions and stairs through the atrium. A code consultant prepared performance-based fire modelling and a timed-exit analysis during the planning stage of the project. An alternate solution was accepted for smoke control and smoke exhaust systems on levels 1 to 11.

Class A Fire Consulting was engaged to provide on-site witnessing of the fire alarm verification, issue partial occupancy letters and the fire alarm certificate. We also designed a detailed sequence of operation and control matrix for elevators, smoke control and smoke exhaust systems for the designing engineer to include in the design package.
